At Spectrum Drone Services we are an experienced professional drone operator licensed by the United Kingdom's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) holding an Operational Authorisation. We are one of the very few operators who have been granted permissions to carry out both fixed wing and multirotor commercial drone operations by day and at night.
With over 40 years of operational drone experience to the highest levels our mission is to provide cost effective, personable drone solutions, delivered with the highest level of professionalism with unparalleled attention to safety.
Our chief pilot (and founder of Spectrum Drone Services) is one of the UK's most experienced and qualified drone pilots, drone instructor and flight assessor. In addition he is licensed to fly multiple categories of manned aircraft and holds a commercial pilot's licence as well as being a licensed air traffic control Flight Information Service Officer, placing Spectrum Drone Services at the forefront for your drone service requirements.
All our drone pilots are UK CAA qualified, trained to the highest standards and are seasoned professionals who we put through a rigorous pre-selection process which includes an internal assessment of competence. Our camera operators are aerial photography experts and are an integral part of the drone team.
We have experience in flying overseas in many capacities. In 2015 our chief pilot was one of five of the country’s top drone pilots who was hand-picked to fly in the world’s first theatrical drone performance performed in front of the Abu Dhabi royal family and 1,500 distinguished guests attending a World Economic Gala Dinner held in Mushrif Park in the centre of Abu Dhabi.
The world's first theatrical drone performance took place at night featuring interaction between actors and dancers. Each of the five drones had its own unique interactive routine with the entire performance being set to music and narration requiring split second timing and unparalleled pilot skill and professionalism.
Our multirotor and fixed wing drone inventory is extensive combining the latest state-of-the art professional drone technology with industry leading capabilities. Our custom designed and built Aerial Survey and Tactical Reconnaissance Aircraft (ASTRA) fixed wing drones far surpass their military equivalent providing tomorrows capability - today.
We have £5m third party insurance as standard which can be increased as required to meet our customer’s requirements.

In 2017 we commenced an on-going program to provide classroom based theoretical and advanced practical flight training to the Devon, Dorset & Cornwall Police Alliance. The D D & C Alliance is one of the largest specialist police done units in the UK.
